Location, Location, Location. That’s what we hear all the time; so what makes a good Laundromat location? Karl Hinrichs of HK Laundry Equipment, with over 30 years experience in the Laundromat industry, describes what makes a good Laundromat location. A “Good” location can make a Laundromat and a “Bad” location will kill any Laundromat. The biggest single factor for the success of any Laundromat business is location.
So what makes a “Good Location”? Location is composed of 3 items. First, the Laundromat should be on a heavily trafficked road with good street appeal. Good Laundromat exposure is related to the number of cars that drive past the store. Think of your location as a billboard. The second factor is the Laundromat should be located in a convenient location with easy access and plenty of parking. Easy in & easy out make the Laundromat more convenient and close to the front door parking is a huge advantage. The last factor is demographics. The Laundromat business should be near people who need Laundromats. The location should be near lots of renters, condo owners and trailer parks. These are the main classification of Laundromat customers.
